Rescued by a compassionate boat crew after being swept away by strong winds off the coast of Maine, a small bird faced a perilous fate before luck intervened.
Jacob Knowles and his crew, coincidentally passing by in their boat, spotted the distressed bird and promptly pulled it from the water, going above and beyond to ensure its well-being.
The bird received exceptional care throughout the journey back to shore, including a warm spot to dry its feathers, a nourishing meal, and a cozy perch atop Knowles’ head.
Jacob Knowles shares on Instagram: “These little guys get blown offshore in the northerly fall winds. They can’t land on the water and have nowhere to go except boats. Pulled this little guy out of 52-degree water and gave him a ride home!”
As they approached the coast, the grateful bird, fully revived, took to the skies once again, leaving the crew with a heartwarming sense of fulfillment for their life-saving act.
