Upon receiving a call from his father that their bird feeders were attracting various species of beautiful birds, Scott Taylor quickly grabbed his camera and rushed to the location. With a passion for bird photography, he was thrilled at the prospect of capturing some unforgettable moments.
“I went to their kitchen window that looked into their backyard where the bird feeders are located. I was amazed by the amount of male and female cardinals that were feeding on the feeders and in their trees.”
The bird feeders were situated in the center of the backyard, sandwiched between the house and the trees, prompting the birds to dart to and fro throughout the day. Scott Taylor was captivated by the cardinals and their playful antics, as they frolicked amidst the dark green spruces.
While observing a cardinal in particular, Taylor noticed how the little bird incessantly hopped around, refusing to stay still until it was time to indulge in another snack.
“If you have ever taken pictures of cardinals before, you know how fidgety they are. They are constantly jumping from branch to branch and never sitting still for very long. I am snapping pic after pic, and he flew off while I was taking the last picture.”
After Taylor got home, he uploaded the photos to his computer and started browsing through them. He wasn’t expecting anything extraordinary until he stumbled upon one photo that left him speechless.
It was a shot of the fidgety cardinal mid-flight, heading towards the bird feeder, and he looked exactly like the red bird from the popular game “Angry Birds.”
Taylor couldn’t believe his eyes and zoomed in a couple of times to get a closer look at the bird’s expression. The cardinal’s fierce and angry face staring back at him was both funny and stunning, and Taylor knew he had to share it with the world.
It’s amazing how Taylor’s real-life “Angry Bird” photo resonated with people, and how it became a viral sensation across the internet. The striking resemblance to the popular game character has certainly contributed to its appeal, and the grumpy expression of the cardinal adds to the humor of the image.
It’s heartwarming to see how a simple photo can bring so much happiness and laughter to people around the world.
“I still can’t believe it,” Taylor said.
Sometimes the best moments in life are unexpected and we never know what we might capture through our lens or experience in our daily lives.
